A little about my job
I am a Culinary professional who is dedicated to providing tasty and nutritious food to our seniors.
What sparked my desire to work in a senior living community
I’ve always enjoyed the interaction with seniors. Seeing the smile on their faces and listening to some of their words of wisdom, makes me think of my deceased grandma just 8 months ago.
Did you go through any special training or education that helps with your current role?
I am a graduate of the International Culinary School of Minnesota with major of Associate and Applied Science in Culinary Art. I am also Served safe Certified Manager through the State of Minnesota.
What is the best part of my working day?
The best part of my day is after completing a very successful service, hearing all the good comments about the service provided. It gives me a great sense of job well done.
What is your favorite resident memory or story?
My favorite story is from one of our residents despite going through hospice and the end-of-life process, whenever she sees me, she will wink at me and call me to talk to her. When I approach her, she will begin talking about her son, her family. At the end of our conversation, she always made sure to offer some chocolate candy or a little symbol of and Angel to put on my name tag.
What make my community stand out from your competition?
The layout of our beautiful facility, the many different programs, the excellent food presentation and the professionalism of our well-trained staff makes me believe that we are way ahead of the game.
